Every Sunday and on special events days a pure vegetarian Preeti Bhojan is served following pooja and aarti. If you are considering sponsoring a Preeti Bhojan, please fill out a Preeti Bhojan Yajman form. The calendar for the Preeti Bhojan shows you the dates available for a Preeti Bhojan. It is recommended that you fill out the form well in advance to get your desired date. Once you have secured a date, speak with any one of three named here; V.P. Program or Chair of the Preeti Bhojan Sub Committee or the President. Names and numbers of these individuals are posted on this page. These individuals can guide you as to how many people to cook for, how much groceries to purchase and for what time the meal needs to be ready for a bhog.
There are three options to choose from for sponsoring a Preeti Bhojan:
In this option you will plan a meal, purchase the groceries and cook a meal. It is recommended that you request your friends and family to help. If you do not have any of your own volunteers, please let us know one week in advance to allow us some time to secure few volunteers to help you.
In this option you will plan a meal, and purchase the groceries. You can hire a cook to prepare your meal. You can use your own cook or we can give you three names to choose from. A cook you hire does not make rotis, that is left to the yajmans. Also, please request your friends and family to help. If you do not have any of your own volunteers, please let us know one week in advance to allow us some time to secure few volunteers to help you.
In this option there are three packages you can choose from for a set donation. The following Preeti Bhojan donations are for preparing food for 150 people. A donation of $1000 is required to prepare Preeti Bhojan for up 300 people. All an yajmans needs to do is decide on a package, the menu and give the donation to the Hindu Society of Alberta. The meal will be prepared for you in time for bhog.
